1

In the heavens, Dawn has risen and shown her glory as ordained by Law. She has revealed demons and hateful darkness; best of Aṅgirases, she has awoken the paths.

2

Awaken us today to high and joyful fortune; to great happiness, O Dawn, grant it to us. Grant us manifold and splendid riches, renowned among mortals, the goddess who befriended men!

3

See, the everlasting splendor of Morning, bright with its varied colors, has approached us. Filling the realm of mid-air, they perform the rites of holy worship, mounting up.

4

She drives her chariot far away and swiftly visits the lands where the Five Tribes dwell, Seeing the deeds and ways of mortals, the world's Imperial Lady, daughter of Heaven.

5

She who is rich in spoils, the Spouse of Sūrya, opulent and wonderful, rules all wealth and treasures. Consumer of our youth, the seers praise her: lauded by priests, Dawn shines brightly.

6

The varied-colored steeds are apparent, the red steeds bearing resplendent Morning. On her all-lovely chariot she comes, the Fair One, and brings rich treasure for her faithful servant.

7

True with the True and Mighty with the Mighty, with Gods a Goddess, Holy with the Holy, She broke down strong barriers and gave the cattle: the kine mooed as they greeted Morning.

8

O Dawn, now give us wealth in kine and heroes, and horses, filled with manifold enjoyment. Protect our sacred grass from man’s reproaches. Preserve us evermore, ye Gods, with blessings.
