Come to our prayers, O Indra, you who know: may your swift horses be yoked and guided here.

Though mortals invoke you everywhere, still listen to us, O All-impeller.

Your greatness reaches to our invocation, the sages' prayer you guard, Powerful One.

When your mighty hand holds the thunder, now you are unyielding and unstoppable.

When you drew both halves of the world together, like heroes led by you, who call each other-

For you were born for strength and high dominion—then even the swift overcame the slow.

Honour us in these times, O Indra, as hostile men make amends.

Our sins, which Varuṇa found but long ago forgave.

We will address this generous Lord, this Indra, so he grants us wealth beyond measure,

Bestower of the singer’s praise and songs. May the gods preserve us always, with blessings.
