1

O Uṣas, strong with strength, endowed with knowledge, accept the singer’s praise, O wealthy Lady. You, ancient, young, and wise goddess, move, all-bountiful! As the Law ordains.

2

Shine forth, O Morning, you auspicious goddess, on your bright chariot awakening pleasant voices. Let docile horses of far-reaching splendor carry you hitherward, the golden-colored.

3

You, Morning, turning yourself to every creature, stand on high as the banner of the Immortals, To the same goal ever and ever winding, like a wheel, O newly born, roll there.

4

Dropping her reins downward, Morning comes, the wealthy Dame, the Lady of the dwelling; Bringing light, the Wonderful, the Blessed, spreads her from the bounds of earth and heaven.

5

Invoke the radiant goddess Morning, and bring with reverence your hymn to praise her. She, dropping sweets, has set in heaven her brightness, and, fair to look upon, has shone her glory.

6

From heaven, with hymns, the Holy One was awakened: brightly to both worlds came the wealthy Lady. To Morning, Agni, when she comes radiant, you go forth seeking fair wealth.

7

On Law’s firm base, the swift Morning Bull has entered mighty earth and heaven. Great is the power of Varuṇa and Mitra, which, bright, spreads its splendor everywhere.
