1

Accustomed to the place of the Messenger, the Messenger has seated himself, bright, splendid, and mighty, Whose foresight keeps the Law from violation, excellent, pure-tongued, bringing thousands, Agni.

2

Envoy you are, protector from the enemy, strong God, you lead us to greater blessings. Radiant, be ever-watchful guardian, Agni, for us and for our offspring.

3

May we worship you in your highest birthplace, and with our praises in your lower station. The place from which you emerged, I worship; to you, well-fed, they offer sacrifices.

4

Agni, best Priest, receive the offering with worship; quickly present the gift to be given; For you are Lord of gathered wealth and treasures. You are the inventor of the bright song of praise.

5

The double bounty, O Wonder-Worker, of you born anew every day never diminishes. Enrich with food the man who praises you, Agni; make him the lord of wealth with noble offspring.

6

May he, benevolent with this fair face, best sacrificer, bring the Gods to bless us. Sure guardian, our protector from the enemies, shine, Agni, with your abundance and splendor.
