Upholding the Law, you strong Ādityas, cleanse my sin like one who conceals it. You, Varuṇa, Mitra, and all Gods who listen, I call on you to help me, knowing your goodness.
You, Gods, are providence and power; cleanse utterly those who hate us. As givers of good things, treat us kindly today and always.
What service can we do you with our future? What service, Vasus, with our ancient friendship? O Aditi, and Varuṇa and Mitra, Indra and Maruts, make us well and happy.
You, O Gods, are truly our kin, so be kind to me who now implores you. Let not your chariot move slowly in our worship. Be kind to kin such as you never tire.
I have sinned many times against you, and you punished me as a father would a gambler. May your nets not ensnare us, Gods, nor may mine offenses touch you. Do not catch me like a bird with its young.
Turn yourselves hitherward, Holy Ones, that in my heart I may approach you fearlessly. Protect us, God; let not the wolf destroy us. Save us, Holy Ones, from the pit and fall.
May I not live, O Varuṇa, to see my wealthy, liberal, dear friend’s poverty. King, may I never lack ordered riches. Loudly may we speak, with heroes, in assembly.
