You, Soma, are supreme for wisdom; along the straightest path you lead us. Our wise ancestors guided the gods by your light.
You are most wise by your insight, O Soma, strong by your power and all encompassing, Mighty by all your might and greatness, glorious, guiding mortals.
You hold King Varuṇa’s eternal laws, lofty and profound, O Soma, your glory. All-pure like Mitra the beloved, adorable, like Aryaman, O Soma.
With all your glory on Earth, in Heaven, on mountains, in plants, and in waters— With all of these, pleased and not angry, accept our offerings, O royal Soma.
You, Soma, are the Lord of heroes, King, indeed Vṛtra-slayer you are: You are auspicious energy.
And, Soma, may it be your wish that we may live and not die: Praise-loving Lord of plants you are.
To him who keeps the law, both old and young, you give happiness, And energy that he may live.
Protect us, King Soma, from him who threatens us: never let The friend of one like you be harmed.
With those delightful aids you provide for the worshipper— Even with those protect us.
Accepting this sacrifice and praise, O Soma, come, And be near to us, gracious One.
We magnify you, Soma, with our sacred songs, skillful in speech: Come to us, most gracious One.
Enricher, healer of disease, finder of wealth, prospering our store, Be, Soma, a good friend to us.
May you be happy in our hearts, as milch-kine in the meadows, As a young man in his own house.
O Soma, God, the mortal man who in your friendship has delight, May the Sage befriend him.
Save us from slanderous reproach, keep us from distress: Be a gracious friend to us.
Soma, grow great. From every side may vigorous powers unite in you: Be in the gathering place of strength.
Grow, most joyful Soma, great through all your rays of light, and be A friend of illustrious fame to prosper us.
