1

When beauties compete for him as for a prize, so too do the songs fight for the sun’s light. As the Sage acts, he flows wrapped in waters and song, as if a stall where cows can thrive.

2

The worlds expand for him who, from ages past, found light to spread the eternal law of life. The swelling songs, like cows in a stable, sing deeply in devotion to Indu.

3

When the Sage carries his holy wisdom around, like a chariot visiting all worlds, He becomes renowned among the gods, wealth to the skilled, praise to the ever-present.

4

Glory born has come forth to glory: he gives life and glory to the singers. They, clothed in glory, have become immortal. He, measured in his course, makes battles successful.

5

Give us food and strength, kine and horses; give us broad lights and fill the gods with joy. All things are easy for you to master, Pavamana Soma, quelling foes.
