1

AGNI, your dear host, I praise you, the one who loves as a friend, Bringing us wealth like a chariot.

2

Whom, Sage of old, the gods have established Among mortals since time immemorial.

3

Protect the men who offer, hear their songs, And keep their seed by your own might.

4

What praise do we sing, O God, Aṅgiras, Agni, of great strength, As you wish and think, may we serve you, In your plan, what sacrifice?

5

What prayer shall I now offer to you?

6

Our God, make us dwell in happy homes, And reward our songs with spoils and wealth.

7

Lord of the home, what bounty fills your praises now, You who help win the cattle?

8

They honor you, Wise and Strong, the bravest in battle, Mighty in your abode.

9

Agni, the one who rests in peace and calm, Neither smiting nor smitten, prosper with heroic sons.
