O Indra! Truly I have made no other my comforter.

1

Indra, be gracious to us.

2

You who have always aided us kindly in the past to win the spoils, As such, Indra, please favor us.

3

What now? As one who helps the poor, you assist him who shares the juice. Will you not, Indra, strengthen us?

4

Indra, help our chariot, even if it lags behind, Thunderer: Give this my chariot the foremost place.

5

Ho there! Why do you sit back? Make my chariot the first, And bring the fame of victory close by.

6

Assist our chariot seeking the prize. What could be easier for you? So make us victorious.

7

Indra, be firm: you are a fort. Proceeds to your appointed place In season, the auspicious hymn.

8

Let not our portion be disgraced. Broad is the course, the prize set, The barriers are wide open.

9

This thing we wish: that you take your fourth, your sacrificial name. So you are held to be our Lord.

10

You, Immortals, have exalted you, both Goddesses and Gods delight. Bestow upon him praise-worthy bounty. May he, enriched with prayer, Come soon and early.
