Now we pray to these Ksatriyas, to the Ādityas for their aid,

These who are kind and willing to assist.

May Mitra carry us over our troubles, and Varuṇa and Aryaman,

And the Ādityas, as they understand.

For the Ādityas' saving help is wonderful and fitting to praise,

To him who offers and prepares it.

Your mighty aid, the Great, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman,

We claim as our sure defense.

Guard us, Ādityas, still alive, before the deadly weapon strikes:

Are you not those who hear our call?

What sheltering defense do you have for him who pours gifts graciously,

Grant that we may be blessed with you.

Ādityas, Gods, from sorrow there is freedom; for the sinless, wealth,

O you in whom no fault is seen.

Let not this fetter bind us fast: may he release us for success,

For strong is Indra and renowned.

O Gods who wish to lend your aid, do not destroy us as you destroy

Your enemies who stray.

And you too, O Great Aditi, I address,

Thee very gracious to assist.

Save us from the foe in depth and shallow waters, Mother of Strong Sons,

Let no one of our seed be harmed.

Far-spread! Wide-ruling! Grant that we, unharmed by envy, may expand,

Grant that our offspring may live.

Those who, the Princes of the folk, in native glory, never deceived,

Maintain their statutes, without guile—

As such, from mouth of ravening wolves, O you Ādityas, rescue us,

Like a bound thief, O Aditi.

Ādityas, let this arrow, yes, let this malignity depart

From us or ere it strikes us dead.

For, Bountiful Ādityas, we have always enjoyed your help,

Both now and in days of old.

To every one, O you Most Wise, who turns from sin to you,

You Gods vouchsafe that he may live.

May this new mercy benefit us, which, you Ādityas, frees like one,

Bound from his bonds, O Aditi.

O you Ādityas, this your might is not to be despised by us:

So be ye graciously inclined.

Let not Vivasvān's weapon nor the shaft
