1

He has been endowed with the Might of the Great Ones, Ancient, Beloved, Through whom the Father Manu made the Prayers effective with the Devas.

2

May the Stones be wet with Soma, never let them forsake, Nor the Hymns and Prayers that must be said.

3

Indra, who knew well, revealed the Cows to the Aṅgirases. This great deed must be praised.

4

Indra, who promoted the Song, the Sage’s Strengthener of Old, May he bless and aid us at this Offering.

5

After their Desire’s Intent, the Pious Singers with the Cry Of Hail! sang loud Hymns to you, Indra, for a Stall of Cows.

6

With Indra, all deeds of Might, both done and yet to be done, Which the Singers know without deceit.

7

When the Five Tribes with all their Men send out their Voice To Indra, and the Priest strews much Grass, this is the Friend’s Home.

8

This Praise is truly yours: You have performed these Manly Deeds, And guided the Wheel on its Path.

9

Boldly he strode for Life, and took Soma as Cattle take their Corn, Receiving this and seeking Help.

10

We, Dakṣa’s Sons with you, would Fain Exalt the Maruts’ Lord.

11

Yes, Hero, with the Singers we sing to the Coming Band. United with you, may we Prevail.

12

With Us are Raining Rudras, Clouds in Accordance in Battle Call, At Vṛtra’s Death.
