I have praised and honored Agni, the sacred offering. May Agni adorn the gods for us. He travels between both gathering places, the Sage. May all the others perish.

2

Agni, consume the words within their bodies through our new speech. Remove all hatreds of the godless and all the wicked man’s malice. Let the destroyers depart. May all the others perish.

3

Agni, I sing hymns to you, like holy oil within your mouth. Accept them, among the gods, for you are the most excellent, the blissful messenger of worship. May all the others perish.

4

Agni confers all vital power as each man prays. He brings the Vasus with strengthening gifts, and grants delight in rest and motion for every call upon the gods. May all the others perish.

5

Agni has made himself famous by wonderful victories. He is the priest of all tribes, chosen with sacrificial offerings. He urges deities to accept. May all the others perish.

6

Agni knows all that springs from gods, and the secret of men. Giver of wealth is Agni, he opens both doors to us when worshipped with our newest gift. May all the others perish.

7

Agni lives with gods and men who offer sacrifice. He cherishes great wisdom, delighting in all things that be, the adorable among the gods. May all the others perish.

8

Agni who lives in all rivers, Lord of the Sevenfold Race of men, We seek him dwelling in three homes, the best slayer of Dasyus for Mandhātar, first in sacrifice. May all the others perish.

9

Agni the Wise inhabits three gathering places, triple-formed. As our envoy, let the Sage bring here and reconcile the Triple Eleven Deities. May all the others perish.

Our Agni, you are first among the gods and first among living men. You alone rule over wealth. Around you, as natural barriers, the waters flow in a circle. May all the others perish.
