Advancing with her radiant beams, the Sky’s daughter is seen. Unfolding, so that we may see, the mighty darkness, the kind Lady brings light.
The Sun rising, the brilliant Star, pours down his beams along with Dawn. O Dawn, at your rising, and the Sun’s, may we gain the share meant for us.
Promptly we woke to welcome you, O Uṣas, Sky’s daughter, You, Generous One, who grant all we desire, and health and wealth to the giver.
You, dawning, strive to light the vast world, yes, heaven, Goddess! That it may be seen. We yearn to be yours, Wealth Dealer: may we be to this Mother like her children.
Bring us that wondrous bounty, Dawn, that will be famous far and wide. What, Child of Heaven, you provide for man, bestow it on us to enjoy.
Give to our princes opulence and eternal fame, and strength in herds of cattle to us. May she who prompts the rich, Lady of sweet songs, drive away our enemies with Uṣas.
