1

Rousing the lands where men’s Five Tribes are settled, Dawn has revealed the paths of the people. She sent out her radiant beams with beautiful oxen. The Sun with light has opened the earth and the sky.

2

They paint their brilliant rays on the sky’s distant edges. The Dawns come like tribes in battle array. Your cattle, tightly closing off the darkness, as Savitar spreads his arms, emit their brilliance.

3

Wealthy, most like to Indra, Dawn has risen and brought forth lands that will promote our well-being. Daughter of Heaven, a Goddess, you distribute, among the most Aṅgirases, treasures to the pious.

4

Grant us, O Dawn, this abundant bounty that you bestowed upon those who praised you with the bellowings of a bull; You who unlocked the firmly set mountains’ portals. Bestow thoughts for profit, as you break them. Preserve us evermore, O Gods, with blessings.

5

Inspiring every God to grant their bounty, sending to us the charm of pleasant voices, Bestow thoughts for profit, as you break them. Preserve us evermore, ye Gods, with blessings.
