Praise to the Asura, the Imperial Ruler, the Bold Warrior— I laud his deeds, who is as strong as Indra—and celebrate the Fort-destroyer.
Sage, sing, Food, Light— They bring him from the mountain, the Sovereign Overlord of the Earth and Sky. I decorate with songs the mighty actions which Agni, Fort-destroyer, did before.
The foolish, faithless, rude-tongued scoundrels— Without belief, sacrifice, or worship— Far, far away, Agni chased those Dasyus, and turned the godless westward.
Him who brought the East with his might, the Maidens in the Western Darkness rejoicing— Agni, Lord of wealth, unyielding conqueror of foes—I extol this one.
Him who broke down the walls with deadly weapons, and gave the Dawn to a Noble Husband— Young Agni, with conquering strength, subdued the Nahus tribes, and they brought their tribute.
In whose protection all men rest by nature— Desiring to enjoy his gracious favor— Agni Vaiśvānara in his Parents’ bosom found the choicest seat in Earth and Sky.
Vaiśvānara the God— At the sun’s setting— He took deep-hidden treasures to himself— Agni took them from Earth and Sky, from the sea beneath and the sea above us.
