1

Install Agni at the sacrifice, as the ritual progresses, for he is pleasing and heavenly. With hymns—since he illuminates us—install him. He, Jātavedas, makes our rites successful.

2

Hear this praise, Radiant Priest of many aspects, O Agni with the fires of man enkindled, Praise that bards send forth pure as sacred butter, strength to this man, as if for his own advantage.

3

Among mortal men, the singer prospers in glory who offers gifts with hymns of praise to Agni, And the God, wondrous bright, with wondrous succors helps him to win a stable filled with cattle.

4

He, born at his birth, whose path is dark behind, fills heaven and earth with far-apparent splendor: And he himself was there. Through night's thick darkness, made manifest by light, the Purifier.

5

With your most mighty aid, confer, O Agni, wonderful wealth on us and on our princes, Who stand preeminent, surpassing others in generous gifts, in fame, and hero virtues.

6

Agni, accept this sacrifice with gladness, which, seated here, the worshipper presents. Among the Bharadvājas, you had fair hymns, and helped them to gain abundant vigor.

7

Scatter our foes, increase our store. May we be glad a hundred winters with brave sons.
