Install Agni at the sacrifice, as the ritual progresses, for he is pleasing and heavenly. With hymns—since he illuminates us—install him. He, Jātavedas, makes our rites successful.
Hear this praise, Radiant Priest of many aspects, O Agni with the fires of man enkindled, Praise that bards send forth pure as sacred butter, strength to this man, as if for his own advantage.
Among mortal men, the singer prospers in glory who offers gifts with hymns of praise to Agni, And the God, wondrous bright, with wondrous succors helps him to win a stable filled with cattle.
He, born at his birth, whose path is dark behind, fills heaven and earth with far-apparent splendor: And he himself was there. Through night's thick darkness, made manifest by light, the Purifier.
With your most mighty aid, confer, O Agni, wonderful wealth on us and on our princes, Who stand preeminent, surpassing others in generous gifts, in fame, and hero virtues.
Agni, accept this sacrifice with gladness, which, seated here, the worshipper presents. Among the Bharadvājas, you had fair hymns, and helped them to gain abundant vigor.
Scatter our foes, increase our store. May we be glad a hundred winters with brave sons.
