1

The mortal man whom you, Indra and Agni, help in battle, Breaks through even strongly guarded wealth as Tṛta breaks through reeds.

2

The two unbeatable in war, worthy to be renowned in fights, Lords of the Fivefold. Invoke us, Indra and Agni, these two.

3

Their strength is impetuous, and their lightning sharp, Which from their arms speeds to Vṛtra’s slayer for the cows.

4

Indra and Agni, we invoke you both, as such, to send your cars: Lords of quick-borne bounty, you who know, chief lovers of the song.

5

Those who give increase every day, gods without deceit for mortal men, Worthy themselves, I honor most, Two gods as partners, for my horse.

6

This offering, pure by stones, to Indra and Agni has been made, Grant renown to our princes, grant wealth to those who sing your praise, Grant food to those who sing your praise.
