1

O Aśvins, come to us quickly: Nāsatyas, do not hesitate. Like swans, fly hither to the juice we offer.

2

O Aśvins, like a pair of deer, like two wild cattle to the mead: Come hither swiftly, like swans, to the juice we offer.

3

O Aśvins, rich in gifts, accept our sacrifice to make it prosperous: Come hither swiftly, like swans, to the juice we offer.

4

As Atri descended to the cave and called out loudly like a woman in mourning, You came to him, O Aśvins, with the fastest and most auspicious speed of a falcon.

5

Part asunder like the side of a woman giving birth. Hear my call, O Aśvins: release Saptavadhri from his bonds.

6

For Saptavadhri, for the seer who was terrified and weeping, You, Aśvins, with your magical powers, tore apart the tree and shattered it.

7

Like the wind that stirs lotus leaves all around, Stir within you the unborn child, and may the ten-month-old baby descend.

8

Like the wind, like the wood, like the sea agitated, Also, ten-month baby, descend together with the afterbirth.

9

The child who has lain for ten months in his mother’s womb— May he come forth alive, unharmed, indeed, from the living mother.
