1

You, warrior-slaying Varuṇa and Mitra, we invoke with song, Who, with your arms like a shield, surround the realm of light.

2

Extend your arms with loving favor to this singer who prays, For everywhere your ever-kindness is sung.

3

May I find shelter now, may my path be on Mitra’s road. Men walk under the protection of this dear Friend who harms no one.

4

Mitra and Varuṇa, may I, by song, earn the greatest prize. This will make the wealthy chiefs and those who praise envy.

5

With your radiant glory, Varuṇa and Mitra, join our gathering, So that in their homes the wealthy chiefs and their friends prosper.

6

May you also grant us space among those who hold your high rule, To give us strength for prosperity and wealth.

7

When dawn rises, Holy Ones! In the realm of the gods where white cows shine, Supporting Arcananas, come swiftly with your swift feet to my pressed Soma juice.
