1

With gleaming spears and golden breastplates, the Maruts rush forward, wielding supreme vitality. They ride swiftly on their horses that are easily tamed. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

2

As you knew, you yourselves have gained your strength; mighty ones, you shine far and wide. With your might, you measure the sky itself. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

3

Strong and united, they grow ever greater together; heroes become majestic, resplendent as the sun’s beams. In their light, they shine as bright as the Sun. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

4

Maruts, your greatness deserves to be revered, like the Sun’s brilliance that we long to see. Lead us with your aid to immortality. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

5

From the Ocean, you lift the rain, and pour torrents down with vapor-filled moisture. Never, Wonder-workers, do your cows go dry. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

6

When you yoke your spotted deer to your chariot poles and wear your golden cloaks, O Maruts, scatter all your foes. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

7

Neither mountains nor rivers can stop you; wherever you resolve to go, Maruts, you go. You encompass the heavens and the earth. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

8

Whatever is ancient, Maruts, whatever is recent, whatever is spoken, Vasus, whatever is chanted, Those who know all of this are you. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

9

Be gracious to us, Maruts, do not slay us, extend shelter to us in many ways. Pay heed to our friendship and our praise. Their chariots move forward as they seek victory.

10

O Maruts, lead us to greater fortune, deliver us, praised, from afflictions. Accept, Holy Ones, the gifts we offer. May we be masters of abundant wealth.
