1

Who among you, Vasus, protects? You, Heaven and Earth, and Aditi, guard us, Varuṇa, Mitra, from the stronger mortal. Which of you at sacrifice gives comfort?

2

Those who praise the ancient laws with praise, when they shine forth without fail, Have established them as eternal guides and shown holy thoughts.

3

May the Housewife Goddess, Aditi, and Sindhu, the Goddess Svasti, be my friend: And may the unobstructed Night and Morning, day and night, protect us.

4

Aryaman, Varuṇa revealed the path, Agni, Lord of Strength, the way to well-being. May Indra-Viṣṇu grant us their powerful defense and shelter.

5

I beseeched the favor of the Maruts, Parvata, Bhaga, the rescuer from man's troubles. Mitra, let Mitra save us from woes sent by a friend.

6

Through these watery offerings, Goddesses, Heaven and Earth, with Ahibudhnya. As if to win the sea, the Gharma-heaters open, as they approach, the rivers.

7

May Aditi, with the gods, defend us, save us, the ever-caring protector. We do not stint the sacred food of Mitra and Varuṇa on Agni’s back.

8

Agni is the Sovereign Lord of wealth, Agni of great prosperity: Grant us these gifts.

9

Hither, rich and pleasant Dawn, bring many things desired, You who have ample wealth.

10

Then may Bhaga, Savitar, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, Indra, bring bounty to us.
