1

Born into life, firmly established in the hearth, Leader of sacrifice, the Sage, the young one, Here in the waning fire, Jātavedas, eternal, has taken on an immortal form.

2

Both Bharatas, Devaśravas, Devāvata, have strongly brought back to life the effective Agni. May Agni, with abundant riches, look forth; be, every day, the bearer of sustenance to feed us.

3

He, born long ago, his ten fingers made; he, whose mothers held dear, is now honored. Pray for Devāvata’s Agni, you Devaśravas, for him who will be the people’s lord.

4

You placed you in the earth’s most beautiful position, in Iḷā’s place, under fair bright skies. To man, to Āpayā, Agni! To the Dṛṣadvati, Sarasvatī rivers, shine richly.

5

Agni, make wealth in cattle, lasting and rich in wonders, to your invoker. May we be born a son and spread our offspring, Agni, may this be your gracious will to us.
