Bird of happy omen, tell your race aloud with cries repeated; send your voice out as a steersman steers a boat.

O Bird, may you bring good fortune without any side seeing calamity.

Let the falcon not kill you, nor the archer with the arrow reach you.

Still crying in the region of the Fathers, speak auspiciously here, bringing joyful news.

Bird of happy omen, bring good tidings and call loudly southward of our homes,

So that no thief, no sinner may oppress us. We will speak loudly, with heroes, in assembly.
