1

The one who lights the fire will vanquish enemies; strong will be he who prays and makes his offering. He with his seed will spread beyond another’s seed, whoever Brahmāṇaspati takes as his friend.

2

With heroes he will overcome his enemy heroes, and spread his wealth by cattle, by himself alone. His children and grandchildren grow strong, whoever Brahmāṇaspati takes as his friend.

3

He, mighty like a raging river’s billowy flood, as a bull conquers oxen, will overcome with strength. Like Agni’s blazing rush, he cannot be restrained, whoever Brahmāṇaspati takes as his friend.

4

For him the rivers of heaven flow without ceasing; first with the heroes he goes forth to war for cattle. He slays with unceasing vigor and great might, whoever Brahmāṇaspati takes as his friend.

5

All roaring rivers pour their waters for him, and many a perfect shelter has been granted him. Blessed with the joy of gods, he prospers well, whoever Brahmāṇaspati takes as his friend.
