Send us a good and happy mind.
I worship Agni, the Youthful God, unyielding, Friend of laws; Under whose protection and divine light the spotted ones seek the Mother’s embrace:
Whose mouths magnify him, bannered with flame and resplendent in light. He gleams with his row of teeth.
Kind, guiding men forward, he comes when he reaches the ends of heaven, Sage, bestowing radiance on the clouds.
To taste man’s offerings, the Strong one rises at sacrifice, Fixing his abode, he proceeds.
Here are oblations, worship, rest; his furtherance comes swiftly. To sword-armed Agni, the gods come.
With service for supreme bliss, I seek the Lord of Sacrifice, Agni, Whom they call the Living, Son of Cloud.
May all men who come from us, who magnify Agni with sacrificial gifts, Be ever blessed.
His path is black and white and red, striped and brown, crimson, and glorious. His father gave him hues of gold.
Thus, with your thoughts, O Son of Strength, O Agni, has Vimada, Accordant with the Immortals, offered you hymns, seeking your favor. You have brought all food, strength, and a prosperous dwelling.
