Gladden the longing gods, O you Youngest One: bring them, O Lord of Seasons, who knows the seasons, With all the Heavenly Priests, O Agni. You are the best worshipper among all Invokers.
You hold the Herald’s post, you hold the Cleanser’s role, wise thinker, wealth-giver, true to order. Let us offer oblations with Svāhā, and Agni, worthy God, give the gods their worship.
We have traveled the gods’ path, ready to do whatever work we can accomplish. May Agni, who knows, complete the worship. He is the Priest; let him set the rites and seasons.
When we ignore your laws, O Deities who know, you will correct our mistakes and shortcomings. Skillful to assign each god his fitting time, Agni shall make the worship pleasant.
When mortals, weak in mind and lacking understanding, forget to sacrifice, Then Agni, prudent and discerning, will worship the gods, the best worshipper, at the right time.
Because the Father has made you, Leader of all solemn rites, their splendid banner, Win by worship homes filled with heroes and rich food to nourish all men.
You, whom the sky and earth, you, whom the waters, and Tvaṣṭar, maker of fair things, created, Knowing well, along the Fathers’ path, shine with radiant light, enkindled, Agni.
