FOR victory in battle, may Indra help us win. With this, O Brahmāṇaspati, may we gain royal power.

To subdue our rivals, to crush all evil, Against anyone who threatens us, against anyone who angers us.

May Soma and Savitar bless you as a victorious king, All elements have helped you, to make you a conqueror.

May this oblation, which Indra gave and thus became glorious and great, Be mine, Gods! And thus, truly, I shall be unmatched.

As slayer of my rivals, I will be unrivaled, victorious, May I rule over these beings, may I be the sovereign of the people.
