DEPART, you Master of the mind, go far away. Look upon destruction far from here. The living mind has many paths.

Men choose a great blessing, a happy boon they gain. They see bliss with Vaivasvata. The living mind seeks many places.

If, by addressing, blaming, or cursing, we commit sin—awake or asleep— All hateful deeds and evil actions may Agni carry off to distant lands.

May Indra, Brahmāṇaspathi, prevent our foes from troubling us, When our deeds are wrong and unjust.

We have triumphed today and freed ourselves from sin and guilt. Ill thoughts, whether awake or asleep, seize the man we hate, yes, the man who hates us.
