1

DEPART, you Master of the mind, go far away. Look upon destruction far from here. The living mind has many paths.

2

Men choose a great blessing, a happy boon they gain. They see bliss with Vaivasvata. The living mind seeks many places.

3

If, by addressing, blaming, or cursing, we commit sin—awake or asleep— All hateful deeds and evil actions may Agni carry off to distant lands.

4

May Indra, Brahmāṇaspathi, prevent our foes from troubling us, When our deeds are wrong and unjust.

5

We have triumphed today and freed ourselves from sin and guilt. Ill thoughts, whether awake or asleep, seize the man we hate, yes, the man who hates us.
