1

AGNI and Soma, mighty pair, listen kindly to my song, Accept my offering and make him strong, rich in cattle, and swift steeds.

2

The one who honors you today, Agni and Soma, with this song, Bestow on him valor, flocks of cattle, and noble horses.

3

The one who offers sacred oil and sacrifices to you, Agni and Soma, will have great strength, children, and a long life.

4

Agni and Soma, famous is your might, when you took the cattle, his sustenance, from Paṇi. You caused the offspring of Bṛsaya to die; you found the light, a single light for many.

5

Agni and Soma, working together, set up the bright lights in heaven. Freed from curses and reproaches, Agni and Soma, you released the rivers that were bound.

6

One of you, Mātariśvan, brought the falcon from heaven, tore the other from the mountain. With holy prayer, Agni and Soma strengthened us, giving us space to offer sacrifices.

7

Taste, Agni, Soma, this prepared offering; accept it, mighty ones, and please them. Protect us with good fortune and favor; grant health and wealth to the sacrificer.

8

Whoso honors you with oil and oblation, with a devoted heart, Agni and Soma— Guard his sacrifice, protect him from distress, grant great happiness to the sacrificer.

9

Agni and Soma, together in wealth, accept our hymns: Be together among the gods.

10

Agni and Soma, to him who worships you with holy oil Shine forth a generous reward.

11

Agni and Soma, be pleased with these offerings we bring to you, And come, together, near to us.

12

Agni and Soma, cherish our horses and make our cows fat, yielding offerings. Grant power to us and to our wealthy patrons, and make our sacred rites successful.
