1

What shall we sing to Rudra, powerful, most generous, supremely wise, That he might hold it dear?

2

That Aditi might grant Rudra's favor to our people, our cattle, Our herds and offspring;

3

That Mitra and Varuṇa, and Rudra might remember us, All gods together in accord.

4

To Rudra, Lord of sacrifice, of hymns and balmy remedies, We pray for joy, health, and strength.

5

He shines with radiance like the Sun, as golden as bright gold, The good, the best among the gods.

6

May he grant health to our horses, well-being to our rams and ewes, To men, to women, and to cattle.

7

O Soma, let you bestow upon us the glory of a hundred men, The great fame of mighty chiefs.

8

Let no malice, nor those who trouble Soma, hinder us. Indu, give us a share of strength.

9

Soma! take hold, center, love these; Soma! know them as serving you, Children of you Immortal, at the highest place of holy law.
